While we are excited to witness the community’s sustained interest in our product, it is a challenge for us to keep funding the continuous development and improvement of the product. Therefore, we have opted to have commercial users fund the project through a commercial license. We believe this is beneficial for both commercial and community users as this will ensure significant time is invested to improving the product. We are enormously proud and fond of our community and will continue to be a contributor to the free version of our products. In fact, we continue to encourage you to use the free community license to help you learn the WPF framework and for personal, non-profit projects.

To clarify the situation and give everyone the advance notice that should have been given before changing our licensing model, we have decided to re-publish the last released version of the Extended Toolkit (v3.8) as per the initial MS-PL license with the original terms, until December 31st, 2020. This will be the last version to be released under such license, and the next release will be under our new community license, which only allows non-commercial use.

Should you desire to use the product for commercial projects, we do support small businesses with a significantly discounted version (a little less than 50%) that has all the features of the commercial license. We invite you to get in touch with us and inquire about how we can help you make the transition like so many already have.
