Are there any plans to add support for creating sub-plugins?

Hi everyone,
I’m working with Metro, and I’ve been exploring ways to extend its functionality. Currently, the plugin handles core DI features effectively, but I’m wondering if there are any roadmap items or future plans to introduce support for creating sub-plugins.

It's tricky because different areas of the compiler are more or less amenable to this (you need some form of "rounds" support). FIR does not support this, IR sort of does. There is also @Origin for tools like KSP to generate other Metro types.

It would be more practical if you described what sort of functionality you'd want to build with a plugin.

To give more context on what I’m aiming for: I’d like to create small, modular extensions (like sub-plugins) that build on Metro’s core DI capabilities without modifying the main plugin. For instance, something akin to https://github.com/IlyaGulya/anvil-utils, which provides additional annotations and code generators (e.g., @ContributesAssistedFactory) to simplify assisted injection in modular apps.

Currently, I’m using KSP plugins to achieve some of this, but I’m not satisfied with their performance.

You would need to use KSP for the foreseeable future due to the limitations I described
