Also, since pretty much all the cores except 3DO can load Audio CD’s, would it be possible to load a custom directory where we can launch an audio CD in which ever CD based console we choose?

a new beta at last! if all goes well this should be a full release tomorrow, pending some docs updates and testing on batocera and windows. i'll just go through the visible changes:
- added a new "control" zapscript command (need to document, but feel free to ask) which will let you run commands against the launchers themselves. for example next/prev/pause etc. on kodi. this needs ongoing work to support each launcher's own hotkeys but eventually i want it a shared interface so you can do things like make save/load state cards or run load commands inside computer cores
- fixed a bug that was causing hangs during indexing on NAS mounts
- on batocera, custom emulationstation launchers should now get automatically pulled in as official launchers
- fixed a bug where launchers would get sent unix formatted paths on windows <@287260369683087361>
- added a new ignore_on_connect option for readers so they won't launch the first thing scanned when booting up (like if a card is left on the reader)
- 3ds on batocera now supports .squashfs and .zcci files
- added some code to be smarter about probing serial devices which i hope will help with the problem of daemonbites conflicting with readers
- added back relative paths (SystemID/path/to/file) as the path option when writing from the app <@287260369683087361>
- added an in-memory cache for app searchs and title id lookups which makes them way faster
- added a new
screenshot zapscript command which lets you trigger a screenshot from a card (only mister supported atm but more planned)
- added a new
mister.wallpper command which lets you set a specific wallpaper with a card
- added 3do core support on mister
- some optimisations to the index process that makes it about 25% faster
- fixed a bug where launch.random on an absolute path wasn't working anymore
- fixed a bug where launching mras on mister wasn't updating the tmp files for marqees

What I’m describing would just be a way to trigger save states in the core/emulator via a card or through the app. The save data is in its normal place

I’m interested in what you’re talking about too for sure. But there’s a few steps left to get there and it’s a bit questionable how much we can fit on a card

Anyway to add detection for CDI files in the Jaguar folder? Because the core needs the Jaguar CD’s converted to CDI to work. And when checking, all it’s seeing is the BIN files. I keep those on there in case the core gets updated to use BIN/CUE.
