Side Swing trails not rendering

Describe the bug
For any weapon attack, swings that go left or right do not have a weapon trail even if the setting is on. This only happens when I face directly forward. If i look up or down and swing, the side swings of attack animations have trails.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Equip any weapon with a side swing animation (sword/axe etc)
2. Attack

Expected behavior
See the side swing trail

I can see the attack trail for attacks that have an animation that thrusts forward, such as the third attack in the sword animation combo

Does this happen for you with shaders turned off? I noticed some of the trail effects get affected by shaders while some seem to not be affected by them

Turning shaders off doesnt seem to fix the problem

Something that think i should also note is im using the first person model mod by tr7zw and that when the mod is toggled off, my arms dont render when i attack using the vanilla hands mode

I was wondering if modifying the player attack speed has anything to do w this? i have a mod that adds a skill tree with attack speed upgrades so that might be worth noting. I also tried removing the first person model mod and that fixed the arms not rendering when i swing
