Hello i c people are using sidefx as their licensing server.
I am assuming becouse noone is able to actually run sesinetd without systemd.

I have been trying to set up a container with systemd but evrythime i add something to the default working container it deletes its own init.

i tried using a vm but those are unbearably slow networking wize on my server.

so im here to ask if maybe there is some way im missing that you can runsesinetd as just itself and not as a systemd service.

This is all becouse the internet is dark and full of terror and i`d like to use my own licensing server without being connected to that internet.

By official policy of Sidefx you can't run sesinetd in a container, it's needs a VM or physical machine. I wanted this too for easy management, but when I asked the staff they said it is not possible and you need a VM or a physical machine to run it correctly.

I read that at some point and it mademy eyes bleed a little. I understand they do this to prevent their software getting pirated but its going to get pirated annyhow they`er shooting their customers for no reason.

Or they don`t want to support running a vm with the things it needs.

Hi Johan,
The Houdini license server (sesinetd) will not run on docker. You'll need to use a virtual or physical machine. Docker containers are not permitted.
