Long Term Keogram Results so Far

I am really enjoying the new Long Term Keo feature, super neat. Thought I'd share my results so far. Mostly cloudy skies that show up as a gross yellow gray. I wonder if the images output are saved anywhere as it's a pretty intensive process to run anytime I want to look at the images. For instance, this took 67 seconds on my Pi 4B 8gig.

That is a fantastic result.

I am surprised it required that much time to generate a result. I would have expected it to be closer to 10 seconds. I have made a few optimizations to the SQL query that shaved a few seconds off, so you may try updating again.

If you run it multiple times, is it always ~60s?

Is it still consistently faster? That speed up seems almost unbelievable. I made some incremental improvements, but 8700% is pretty amazing. :-)

My gens average is 0.6s for 18 days on RPI5 8Gig.

Yep, 1.55s for 11 days on Pi 4B 8g. Something must have just been wrong with the first iteration.

Well, I did not intend for my optimizations to be that successful. I guess I cannot help myself. :-)

Out of curiosity, how did you manage to line things up across DST? I noticed there isn't a shift like I see in other annual daylight charts now that we're through the change.

The keogram data is recorded with a [unix] timestamp which is always in UTC. DST can never affect the output.

Well... that is not strictly true. You probably did not notice it, but the entire keogram is shifted (probably right). The keogram data is recorded in UTC, but the left-hand side of the keogram is aligned with 12pm (noon) of the local timezone. This is one of the reasons I added the Hour Offset in the generator.

Just update to the latest code. I am close to tagging a new release, but I generally just throw everything at HEAD and occasionally tag releases. Not the greatest model for development... but it is the oldest. :-)

While not directly related to the Long Term Keogram, I have just released the Auto-Gain functionality in indi-allsky. This has a positive impact to the Long Term Keogram. There is no longer a hard boundary between day/night transitions. The white line on the left and black on the right disappear entirely...
