ONVIF for IP Cameras to decode ffmpeg streams

Just a thought seen this attached implementation of IP camera support to this “standard” Whitchurch mist IP cameras are baesd on. JPEG snapshot in on these IP cameras are not a great and would be amazing to full decodes from the live video streams?

may even then be able to control exposure and nite shifts shutter IR compensation and various other features of IP cameras….

I doubt the quality would be any better even if you extracted frames out of the video. They are still lossy compressed video. In many cases, it is just a MJPEG stream which is literally a sequence of JPEG images to form a video stream.

@aaronwmorris does the exposure option then just refresh the jpeg url 15times for a 15sec exposure?

Network IP Cameras do not provide an external control of their exposures, so indi-allsky does not try to manage the exposure. indi-allsky still reports an exposure, but the exposure does not represent anything that is configureable. The Network IP Camera manages it own exposure controls.

what are some of the beset practices for all sky images? Longer shutter speeds low gain high gain, is cut filters no idea where to start. My daytime images are amazing the night shots not so much.
