~4TB OneDrive on a small local drive #3502

Hello, I am currently using Windows 11 and OneDrive with a primary family account to which I have shared the 5 other OneDrive folders. This setup means my primary account effectively utilizes nearly 4TB of storage in total (1TB max per OneDrive). On Windows, everything works well despite my small local space (I use only SSDs for their silence and speed) because I use Files On-Demand and most files remain in the cloud. My local SSD is significantly smaller than the ~4TB stored on OneDrive. My configuration consists of one main account syncing content from six accounts (the primary one + five shared folders). I've seen that a feature request #757 has been submitted for support for On-Demand Files on Linux. Is my ~4TB, 6-account-aggregated OneDrive usable on Linux today, or should I wait for better feature support? |

You will need to wait until v2.5.10 is released where this is slated for inclusion.
The roadmap to complete before even looking at this again was the following:
v2.5.8 is scheduled for release between now and ~towards the end of November.
Pending no major issues with v2.5.8, development of 'on-demand' capability will be undertaken. How long that takes - could be a few weeks or could be a few months depending on when I can work on it outside of external priorities.
