OneDrive client and kubuntu 25.10

As (K)Ubuntu 25.10 it is still not supported (I've verified that the OpenSuse repository still handles up to 25.04) I did manage to install the version for 25.04 that is available, e.g. onedrive v2.5.7-1+np1+1.1
By the way, I've noticed that there are some issues with this release (I've read that both 2.5.8 nd 2.5.9 are out and checked their changelogs) and I don't know if I can keep on using 2.5.7 or do I have to migrate to version 2.5.9... but anyway even if I get a 'please update' popup, I cannot do it (no new repo folder and no update in modules)!

The issues I am currently having:

1. I had some directories deleted on OneDrive-cloud as empty
2. even if with the sync_list file properly configured - it was working with 25.04 - and I have the flag sync_root_files = "false", I am still getting some directories from the root syncronized

As I am having other troubles with the latest kubuntu, I thought to move to Fedora 43, but also here I've read that the latest version of ondrive is 2.5.7 (https://github.com/abraunegg/onedrive/blob/master/docs/install.md)

Can someone please tell me what to do?

Please critically understand the way Ubuntu and clones like Kubuntu work .. you should not ever install another distribution version package on your distribution.

To your question:

1. The OpenSUSE Build Service needs to support Ubuntu 25.10 ... I dont track what they support in their build matrix.
2. I do not handle the packaging for the client via the OpenSUSE Build Service. This is maintained by @norbusan
3. You get the 'new version available' popup because the application checks the GitHub repository release data. Please read: https://github.com/abraunegg/onedrive/blob/master/docs/client-architecture.md

This is #3512 - which is resolved in v2.5.9

Files are not directories. You need to configure your 'sync_list' file correctly

My recommendation is to use a better distribution that something based on Ubuntu ... Fedora 43 is the one you should look at.

You must understand however that package maintainers take ~2 weeks post a new release on GitHub to generate a new package and make it available by the applicable channels. They are not just instantly available.

To the Fedora package - that maintainer is away on a business trip, and will be looking at the packages next week.

My advice is - it sounds like you need v2.5.9 right now ... your best option is to build from source and compile the application yourself.

Thank you so much indeed! I will move to fedora (I was already doing it) and will wait for the update before installing the client.
Not so urgent and better preserve integrity than risking damages.
