Make x-axis linear

The x-axis shows an even distribution of sample points. However, the sample points are not necessarily distributed evenly. Sometimes I request some additional points, sometimes I may change the sampling rate. Other times the petitions site goes done, occasionally for extended periods.

Being able to distribute the samples evenly as time along the x-axis (with bigger and smaller gaps where needed) is what I am looking for. I'm not sure if that should be done in the pre-processing to extrapolate points, or whether there is a chart that will support it at the front end (an XY line plot for example).
