Cannot deploy with helm from self-hosted runners

Running 0.24.0 / chart 0.19.0

Trying to deploy an application with helm from self-hosted runners results in the following error:

Release "app-name-redacted" does not exist. Installing it now. Error: rendered manifests contain a resource that already exists. Unable to continue with install: Namespace "app-name-redacted" in namespace "" exists and cannot be imported into the current release: invalid ownership metadata; annotation validation error: key "meta.helm.sh/release-namespace" must equal "github-runners": current value is "default"

Google comes up empty. It seems like something within the runners is messing with helm.

Solution: I had to add -n default to helm upgrade
