Please add command (context menu/button) to toggle effect of Markdown Here #919

I really like Markdown here, however, I have the following problems:

  1. Typically I write email in Thunderbird as plain text:

    • When I start to write a new email (New Message), I get the view split - left plain text, right Markdown preview - good
    • However sometimes I want to get rid of the Markdown preview, i.e. toggle the Markdown preview - but there is no accessible option for that
    • So I drag the vertical separator between plain text and Markdown preview areas to the right - but if I drag the separator too much to the right, it disappears, along with the Markdown preview
    • And now, since there is no command to toggle the Markdown preview, I cannot get back the Markdown preview anymore
  2. Say, I've written a plain text email, and it ends up in the Sent folder; I want to view it again, so I double-click it

    • I get the mail opened, and currently shown as plain text
    • I would like to see it Markdown formatted - but there is no option to toggle the view/formatting
    • I guess the same goes for any email I had received from someone else, which is also written as plain text (although I cannot confirm that at this time, because I cannot quickly find a mail someone else has written which is in plain text format)

I would have loved if there is a command to quickly toggle between Markdown view mode and plain-text view mode - probably best through a right-click context menu, since that one is available both for write/compose windows, and for viewing windows/tabs in Thunderbird; please consider adding that!
