Hi,

Is it possible to set podcasts to auto download the next x unplayed episodes? It seems to work great if you are up to date but if starting at the start of an old podcast with hundreds of episodes then it seems to only grab the x amount of latest instead of the next episode that is unplaced if that makes sense.

Great question — this is something we often hear from podcast listeners we work with.

Unfortunately, most podcast apps default to downloading the latest episodes rather than the next unplayed ones when you're starting a show from the beginning. This can be frustrating if you're trying to binge an older series in order.

Depending on the app you're using, there may be a workaround — for example, manually marking episodes as played until it starts queuing the right ones, or creating a custom playlist. But ideally, this is a feature podcast players could improve on.
