Replace GitPod with Codespaces #344
Description
In the README file replace GitPod badge with Codespaces: the link should start the Codespace on the main branch:
- remove GitPod configurations from the repository
- create and validate .devcontainer.json setup for GitHub Codespaces
- ensure prebuilds, extensions, and workspace automation are replicated where needed
- update project README and documentation to reflect Codespaces usage
