Alert e-mail populates field with "display" and not "code"

G'day,
I have configured an Alert which has the field piped which the Simple Ontology is connected to.
But the value populated in the e-mail is the "display" and not the "code".

When I export data I have the "code" values.

Why is this?

Hi Christopher,

Redcap will store the value in the database as the code(which is why it exports the code), but it has special handling to change codes to display in things like reports. I do not know how the field piping logic works.
Values added using the simple ontology should have the same functionality as if you used bioportal to look up the value. The only difference is the bioportal version does a query using the bioportal web service, while the simple ontology just checks a local list. Do you know if a bioportal value does the same thing when piped?

I also found this (https://community.projectredcap.org/questions/78661/piping-the-biomedical-ontology-value-not-label-int.html) looks like I wasn't using the piped variable correctly.
