[Issue]: Update readme to latest status

Describe the issue

There are a few issues with the current readme that should be handled:

1. Inital touchpoint with new developers. It should be clear why, how, and what we do at the first glance.
2. Many links to the documentation are not valid anymore.
3. Redundancy within the readme - Many things are repeated and should be unified.
