Method to rename curves according to some mapping

I have a well with very ugly curve names. Is there a method in welly (with the alias dictionary like for the quality tests, probably?) to rename them to names I specified?

Possible to use an alias dict in reverse - rename aliased names to the key? Seems risky.

Sharing a word of caution; renaming curves based on curve name only can go wrong in a few occasions. The best know example is C1. Mudgas data or Caliper X?
Solving this in the correct manner you need [unit] and even [file_type].
C1 [ppm] --> C1 mudgas
C1[mm] --> Caliper
C1[mm] in file containing only mudgas data --> wrong unit? most likely C1 mudgas
