SLIM v1.1 Update

• Released mid-February

• Introduced SlimRPC:

  • RPC framework built on SLIM bindings
  • Supports unary and streaming patterns (similar to gRPC)

• Added proto compiler plugins:

  • Python support
  • Generates service stubs and types
  • Removes need to use raw SLIM APIs directly

• Released additional SDKs:

  • Python SDK (A2A compatible)
  • Golang SDK (planned expansion)

  • Public SLIM rendezvous endpoint would simplify usage

Roadmap Updates

1.3 (Target: End of March)

Planned:

• RPC support for .NET
• A2A multi-party extension proposal
• Expanded SDK alignment with A2A-supported languages

Ruby bindings:

• Originally requested for Meraki integration
• Currently deprioritized
• Community contributions welcome
• Better issue documentation to be added

WebSocket support proposal (browser compatibility) discussed as potential future roadmap item.

SLIM Rendezvous (New Initiative)

Goal: Public SLIM endpoint similar to Directory public node

Purpose:

• Allow agents to connect without private SLIM deployments
• Enable cross-organization agent communication

Requirements:

• Agent authentication across organizations
• TLS, ingress, certificates
• Secure transport configuration
• Detailed implementation plan to follow

Securing Local Agents (Deferred Discussion)
