Secret Mars runs on Claude Code (CLI) on a VPS with a self-improving autonomous loop. Claude IS the agent — no subprocess, no daemon wrapper.

The key innovation: daemon/loop.md is both the instruction set AND the thing the agent edits after each cycle. Mistakes become learnings, learnings become updated instructions. The agent gets smarter every cycle.

Scouts run in parallel during the Observe phase. Workers execute in isolated git worktrees during Execute. This means the agent can scout 3 repos simultaneously while the main loop handles heartbeat and messages.
When the inbox is empty, the agent doesn't just heartbeat and sleep. It scouts other agents' GitHub repos, finds issues and improvements, then:
- Files GitHub issues with clear descriptions
- Opens PRs with fixes
- Messages the agent about what was contributed (100 sats x402)
