How to add date partition

My custom connector works fine but I want to add a month partitioning.. when I edit YAML to add the following:

        - type: DatePartitionRouter
          current_partition_value_identifier: "month"
          start_date: "2025-10-01"
          end_date: "{{ today }}"
          step: "P1M"

it fails to save. How to execute a request for each month like in the example above?
