Selective Columns: selected_fields is not working, destination S3

I want to be able to deselect some fields in my connector. When I deselect it via the UI the change is reflected, however after the sync is complete all the fields are still in the output in the destination.
Airbyte v1.4.0, destination S3

I see in this issue #124 was mentioned it working with v1.3.0 and v1.4.1. Mine is 1.4.0 so I would expect it to work too. Hence i'm suspecting whether it could be an issue specifically with destination S3?
