WC2: Persistent connection between dApp and wallet cannot be maintained

Describe the bug (current behavior)
The Wallet Connect Transport in Beacon is currently unusable. Connection between dapp and wallet fails to remain stable and is consistently terminated.

I just tried to reproduce the behavior, but all my tests were working fine. I tried the following:

dApp: objkt.com

Kukai Web (via "Show QR Code" -> "Wallet Connect" -> "Copy to clipboard") -> successful
Kukai iOS (via "Show QR Code" -> "Wallet Connect" -> scanning QR Code) -> successful
Trustwallet (via "Show QR Code" -> "Wallet Connect" -> scanning QR Code) -> successful

I got informed that ReOwn currently has system problems (https://status.reown.com). The current message reads:

Given, this sounds like a different system but might could have side effects.

I will continue trying to reproduce this issue.

Since you can reproduce the issue, can you share a screenshot of the console log and the network tab of the debugger tools? Also can you share what wallet and what dApp you tested with?

This is not a Wallet Connect issue. It's a Beacon WC2 transport issue. Please look into it more thoroughly.

I have not tried to reproduce the issue.

As mentioned in the previous message we are working on this. We are in the progress of building up a multi day e2e test setup to hopefully reproduce the issues you reported.

Any additional input is much appreciated.

We developed a first test, that we will let run during the night.

The test is still running, everything up to 4 hours is fine so far, we will leave it running some days to see if we lose connection at any point.

The 8 and 12 hours tests passed as well, now out for some multiday ones. We are currently comparing the WC2 lifecycle with our implementation.

3 and 5 day test didn't show an issues so far. We are working on tests that introduce connection drops etc. to simulate real world conditions.

We could not reproduce the reported issue (also not with longer tests). However compared to the WC2 reference implementation and incorporated some differences in the following PR: #930 . This has been released as version 5.0.0-alpha.0 and we are currently rerunning the tests.
