Firefox Doesn’t Skip in Background

My Version: Firefox Developer Edition 113.0b9 (64-bit) with Sponsorblock 5.4.1 on macOS Ventura

Basically, what happens is the following:

1. I open a video
2. I play it in the background
3. I notice a few minutes later that I’m hearing stuff I’m ordinarily skipping like sponsors and self promotion
4. I tab back to Firefox
5. Sponsorblock immediately skips properly

So, my guess is that this is somehow related to Firefox throttling extensions running in background tabs/windows. This seems to be a recent change, I think it’s happening since about a month, maybe two.

Does not however consistently block when switching back to foreground.

Skipping uses set timeouts. Maybe Firefox is not triggering timeouts when out of focus

Not had it for at least two rolling upgrades of Firefox Developper Edition, now on 116.0b8. Sorry about the delay.
