Course Computational approaches to migration research, winter semester 2026-27

Materials, slides, hands-on code and assignments for for the course "Computational approaches to migration research" for the 2026-27 edition

Here is the folder structure and what to expect:

  • Root folder
    • This ReadMe.md text file
    • File named ".gitignore" is very important and described how it works in the slides of the week on introduction.
  • Slides_PDF
    • Slides for each week named as "01_xx", "02_xy" etc. Course's syllabus is also included here.
  • Hands_on
    • Here you find the instructions and example code for each week. See the slides for a description of what is included for each week.
  • ZZZ_Final_examination
    • Here you can find instructions and guidelines regarding course's final exam, dates, how to hand-in materials etc.

Note on using these materials

I am sharing the course materials publicly under a GPL-3.0 license. Please feel free to use these materials in your teaching or research. I ask you to give proper credit and link to this repository, if you used the materials, thanks.

Please see here ./ZZZ_Final_examination/ReadMe.md the guidelines for final examination where I have now added the list of 5 topics from which you can select one for your final essay and presentation.
