To help you, akveo team uses the browserSync that has integration with http-proxy-middleware.

If you go to this gulp file, you will be able to configure development proxy that will sent the requests of for exemple /api to your server with PHP code.

For production I use alias to redirect every /api requests to my backend code, in whatever language and the / to blur-admin build.

@pavi95 Sorry I haven't used Codeignitor PHP framework, maybe this article will help you.

• Edit gulp/build.js, Add a callback function in the last line like this.

gulp.task('build', ['html', 'fonts', 'other'], function() {
  // your code goes here
  // save the html file to the target suffix of framework
  // move the static resources to the specific directory, and don't forget to delete the old files
  // do the above work easily with child_process library of NodeJS
});

• May add some route rules in PHP framework or nginx. It's for the lazy load of components.
