Target a part of the DOM for replacement

I am very interested in reading the proposal for enabling links, forms, and buttons to target a part of the DOM for replacement. Is it currently being worked on?

In the meantime here are a few interesting discussions happening in the WHATWG about the broad topic of "inserting HTML"

• Coherent story for HTML-setting methods
• A way to stream content into an element
• Out of order HTML streaming ("patching")
• Improve API of insertAdjacent*() methods

Yes it is! Carson and I actually published a paper about it. I'm currently most focused on the implementation of PUT, PATCH, and DELETE, but I'm doing the work to translate partial page replacements into a spec as well. Just takes time...
