Ubuntu 26.04 and Xubuntu 26.04 is released now.
Tried to upgrade my Xubuntu on x86 machine from 24.04 to 26.04.
Before system upgrade, I removed the three packages debmatic, pivccu-modules-dkms and hb-rf-eth.
Then I also removed their repository definition debmatic.list from /etc/apt/sources.list.d,
Removing third party packages and repositories is recommended at ubuntu system upgrade.
After upgrading the linux system to 26.04, I added the repository definition debmatic.list to /etc/apt/sources.list.d again.
Then I tried to install the first package pivccu-modules-dkms with command "sudo apt install pivccu-modules-dkms".
There is some terminal output/activity for a very few seconds and then it locks up completly (or freezes or got stuck....you name it).
The install process do not finish. No matter how long you wait. You also cannot cancel it with CTRL-C.
Had to start another ssh to kill the apt-process in the first shell.
The install process is freezing at terminal output "Create kernel modules ...".
You end up with a "pending package installation".
I removed the package with "sudo apt remove pivccu-modules-dkms --purge" and rebooted the system and tried again.
Same result: Package installation locks up at "Create kernel modules ...".
Would it be possible to make package pivccu-modules-dkms compliant to Ubunto 26.04 with its Kernel 7.X ?
