Things you can check/try:

(you don´t need to do everything, just what might be related to your problem)

  • make sure the downloaded Meshroom files are not corrupted (incomplete/interrupted download)

  • you have to extract the archive and not just launch it from the zip viewer. If you have a path like this on windows: "C:\Users\DEV\AppData\Local\Temp\meshroom", you are in the temp folder of the zip viewer. #600

  • using remote drives under windows or access restrictions may cause unexpected GUI problems. Place the Meshroom binaries in a directory without special restrictions (If you are not familiar with folder permissions, on windows the "My documents" folder is known to work.)

  • avoid special characters/non-ASCII characters in Meshroom and images file paths (#209)

  • make sure your antivirus program does not interfere with Meshroom ((#178)/(#342))

  • are you running Meshroom as Admin? Don´t. (This will disable drag-and-drop on windows) #599

  • Check your Python installation /reinstall as admin and check the PATH if there are any conflicts

  • update/install latest NVIDIA drivers

  • set your NVIDIA GPU as primary GPU for Meshroom. (NVIDIA Control Panel->Manage 3D Settings)

  • Try the Meshroom 2018.1 release; when using windows 7 try the corresponding release (Meshroom 2019.1 has some problems with Texturing #449, DepthMap and some photo datasets which worked in 2018.1 #409. These problems should be resolved in 2019.2)

  • Test Meshroom with the Monstree dataset

  • Sometimes the pipeline is corrupted. Clear the cache for the node (and following nodes) with the error. Sometimes restarting the application / the computer might help. #201

  • check your images for problems

  • Windows 10 stores your Pictures folder in your user profile. You may get problems copying this path. Use another folder and copy the full path.
