alire build fails, yet continues later

When I build my crate (Dependency Graph Extractor) that use libadalang 25, I get

When I retry I get

and build continues normally.

I now wonder Are these errors caused by temporary issues (like connection failure) or are they real?

If the latter, what should I do to get everything ok - or has alire fixed them?

I can't immediately see any way the first error could be a connection issue or similar (I would expect something like ERROR: Command ["curl", "https://github.com/AdaCore/libadalang/releases/download/v25.0.0/libadalang-25.0.0.tar.gz", "-L", "--progress-bar", "-o", "C:\Users\laarpjljvd\alr-udjb.tmp\libadalang-25.0.0.tar.gz"] exited with code 1 in that case). I think it's more likely to do with unpacking the tarball, or moving the resulting files.

The second error looks like an unrelated issue which has been reported before. I am rather surprised that it works after a retry, though, as that would suggest it is unrelated to the path length.

In theory, alr should be able to detect if there are any issues, and only proceed with the build if everything is ok, but it's hard to say without knowing more about the cause of these errors.

Based on those error messages, the things that might be broken are the directories

• C:\Users\laarpjljvd\AppData\Local\alire\cache\builds\langkit_support_25.0.0_7c5f4981
• C:\Users\laarpjljvd\AppData\Local\alire\cache\releases\libadalang_25.0.0_0303cb0f

so you could try deleting those and rerunning the build. If this causes the errors to re-occur, it would be helpful if you could run with debug info on (i.e. using alr -vv -d).

So it seems langkit_support_25.0.0_7c5f4981is only partly copied when the error occurs.
Yet, Alire on the next iteration seems to consider that langkit_support_25.0.0_7c5f4981 is correctly and completely copied.

On the one hand, if this turns to be unrelated to path lengths, that would make me happy. On the other, that would be a bug on the atomicity (that a word?) of our synchronizations, which would be no good.

It could still be both, for full happiness all around.
