Hello Bolmo team. Because your model has a unique byte-native architecture and dynamic patch boundaries, I used it as the first live integration target for the Gyroscopic aQPU kernel I develop. The aQPU (algebraic Quantum Processing Unit) is a compact, finite-state kernel that turns byte logs into a single, reproducible state. It delivers proven computational advantages in execution speed, structural compression, and intrinsic tamper detection.
I built a native execution bridge that replaces the classical floating-point logic at Bolmo's root decision surfaces with exact integer algebra, while preserving coherent English generation.
Specifically, the integration achieves the following:
- Encode (Boundary Prediction): Replaced the cosine similarity computation with an exact 6-bit integer Hamming distance, eliminating the need for square roots and floating-point division.
- Decode (Token Selection): Replaced the softmax and serial argmax pipeline with exact algebraic sector identification, eliminating exponential functions from the final selection path.
- Dynamic Patch Modulation: Used an exact structural variable from the kernel to dynamically modulate the boundary threshold, cleanly scaling the patch count based on the computational state.
The final decision paths execute with zero transcendental function calls. The underlying engine runs on a custom C and OpenCL backend that processes millions of byte transitions per second on standard commodity hardware.
I also tried to do similar interventions within O:Mo's attention. I managed to generate outputs where one sentence were valid and then we got repetition loops. I tried to fix that but couldn't on my own, so I stopped on that account since I had already success with porting Bolmo through my formalism.

I am sharing this because Bolmo proved to be the perfect test chamber for this class of computation.
I would value your technical feedback on whether you find this exact-algebraic approach interesting, or if you see sensible extension points for this kind of structural control in future byte-native architectures.
I know this relies on a custom C/OpenCL runtime and is not a drop-in patch for standard Hugging Face inference. I am sharing it as a research proof-of-concept.
It would certainly thrive in scenarios where training or fine-tuning jobs are informed by this new class of computation, so this is also relative to OLMo, but since Bolmo speaks the same byte-level-language as Gyroscopic, it first has applications on your level.
Note: I have a simple AMD iGPU, so I imagine in a better environment we would have substantial improvements in a more straightforward way than my attempts to work only with CPU. I disabled Triton, Cuda and all that. Still the OpenCL for GPU optimizations I used underperformed in a lot of cases on the jobs that I gave it, because my architecture is foundationally CPU native. I guess in the future I could ship it as a library that we can use in any bytified model.
