[Feature Request] - ability to upgrade Amazon workspaces

I am currently using an Amazon workspace running Amazon Linux 2 to perform some of my work tasks. I would appreciate the ability to update this workspace to Amazon Linux 2022 without losing my user data. Is this possible or is it on the roadmap?

How to update existing Amazon Linux 2 instances to Amazon Linux 2022 is definitely on our mind but still under evaluation at this time. As to how this would apply to an instance from Amazon Workspaces, we will be sure to pass this request down to that team.

FWIW, I would not mind a clean slate of the OS as long as I can keep the user data volume with my files intact. Reinstalling programs is far less painful than backing up and migrating data.
