Currently, the ADOT Collector needs to be built by following these steps. Instead, this would be done by the Amazon Linux team and offered as a native package in the Amazon Linux repo.

The OpenTelemetry Collector offers a vendor-agnostic implementation of how to receive, process and export telemetry data. Customers are adopting OpenTelemetry and offering a native package will allow faster adoption.
