🐛 Describe the bug / provide steps to reproduce it

Trying to get dozzle working behind an Nginx Proxy Manager (NPM) reverse proxy. What I am finding is that dozzle will load the page, but never gets information for the containers from the server. I suspected this was an issue with the SSE's. Below is the configuration for nginx:

Under this configuration, the GET for /api/events/stream is unsuccessful. There is no response.

However, if I add the following to my config for nginx, /api/events/stream becomes available.

Once available, I am finding that /api/events/stream is returning html to the browser. This doesn't seem like the correct behavior. When I curl /api/events/stream from the proxy container, I get the stream successfully.

Admittedly, I am not sure if this is a bug with dozzle or an issue with my configuration in nginx.

Well I feel dumb now. The issue is not with dozzle nor with my proxy. I'm guessing my work's network is blocking the connection. Accessing from a network other than work is successful.

Nothing is obvious to me. But a few things I observed.

In your configuration, you have authelia, so I wonder if the browser is rejecting the stream API due to authentication issues.
It's strange that curl works while the browser does not. Can you check the webpage to see what is being returned? If it displays the Dozzle homepage, then the path is incorrect.
Does it work without the proxy? This will help identify whether the issue lies with Dozzle or the proxy layer.

The FAQ does have some config for proxies. If you haven't seen it then it might solve your problem.

I am not too familiar with Authelia so can't help more.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I use pre.env to set ID's and timezone. This enables me to use the user directive in other containers to try to tame different file permissions.

PUID=${PUID}
GUID=${GUID}
UID=${PUID}
GID=${GUID}
TZ=America/New_York

I don't believe authelia to be the issue. I have tested this by removing the authelia portions from the nginx config and have seen the same behavior.
Visiting https://dockerlogs.<my_tld>/api/events/stream in the browser does return the dozzle homepage with a message This page does not exist.
To test without the proxy, I get a shell in the NPM container and curl the URLs. This works as expected. I can test with a web browser if desired.

I am puzzled because I can't understand why it would work with curl and inside the npm container. Testing in the browser without npm will be the next step. If it works without a proxy, then it is likely not related to Dozzle.

If it does work without a proxy, could you compare the request headers to identify any differences? I doubt that would be the issue, but it's worth a try.

Dozzle does indeed work when connecting directly with a web browser (i.e. not through the proxy).

So I guess that means there is an issue with my proxy. Any ideas from the config provided what might be the issue?

Honestly I am not too sure. I found this doc that sets it up with nginx.

I use traefik which is why I can't help. I would try to start with a minimal deployment, eg no proxy. Then slowly introduce other components until it breaks.
