Hi,
I run Dozzle on a number of servers, and if I happen to leave it open in the browser (Chrome on Windows), it will start chewing lots of memory to the point where Chrome becomes slow to respond and then that is actually affecting other Windows apps.. My machine has a lot of memory and CPU cores but typically I see this when a Dozzle page starts using about 2GB of RAM.
Just now I closed 3 Dozzle windows in 3 different Chrome profiles which were each approaching 2GB and I was wondering why my machine was not responding snappily..
Does not seem to be an issue on the process view page.. only if I happen to leave a scrolling log open.
Is it just me?

How many containers, hosts, agents, etc. are you using?

between 9-27 depending on the host.

I can't say I have ever seen anybody with this problem. It could be many things. Like extensions or other software running on your PC.

OK, i've opened two active Dozzle sessions on a Chrome profile with only 2 extensions. Both sitting around 200-250Mb of memory each at present..

30 mins in..

~60 mins.. this first one was over 2GB about 10 mins ago..

OK, another hour later, it seems to cycle between 1.6 to 2.3GB on the high throughput server...

The original quiet server is still on ~ 200Mb. I'll guess I re-open if I can provide any more clues..

Ah ha! Happened again... Surprisingly, it is was not an open scrolling window.. Just the container list. It's been open 11.5 hours.

@ghhv I am not sure what your expectations are but i have no idea what could be causing this. Dozzle streams stats so with 27 containers that's a few bytes per second per container. 11.5 hours adds up. I have tested Dozzle for a 10 - 30 mins and I haven't seen the memory increase.

Well, I'm not having a go.. the expectation is it should not happen and making you aware. If it's only me.. then c'est la vie.. I guess we'll see in time..

To be clear, there has been browser performance issues before. But it was easier to reproduce for me. CPU was high which I was able to profile. Or streaming 100 logs per second slowed down the browser. Those have been fixed.

Running for a few hours is time consuming and no one else has reported it. I would need memory profiles to investigate. Not very easy to investigate.

I think I have the same issue. Dozzle is using 9 GB! The laptop becomes sluggish

Another insatnce is using 2GB

I usually dont close the dozzle tabs. They are always running.

Thanks! I have some ideas, but the problem is that I can't reproduce this. Some times RAM spikes but when I go back to the tab it drops to <100MB. I have about 20 containers.

I'll test each server and see if it's only some servers.. that will help narrow down perhaps..

I may have a fix on this amir20/dozzle:pr-4394. But because I can't reproduce it, there is no way of knowing if I fixed it. Some one please try it.

Hey Amir, Looks like you found it. I've had two separate Dozzle clients (v9.0.3) running for hours today and much better. Highest memory usage I've seen is 1.2GB and not killing the computer. I'll monitor over coming days.

That's great. I have merged it into master. It will be part v10 release. The fix was just random code scanning and trying different ideas. Not easy to reproduce.
