Captive portal

I assume a captive portal is redirecting the user from visiting a website to another website first.
Namely the captive portal the portal that is capturing you before you reach that site.

In my case that is not working: i can see it is giving the message that it has found the domain i guess you are chnaging the resolv from the original domains ip to the captive portal ip and it seems to go right.

Thing is, the browser is not getting the resolved ip, perhaps in the view years that has passed things have changed, seems like a interesting function for the esp could you have a look at this ?

well it works with my android phone no so much with linux.
I had hoped it would redirect all traffic to one ip via domain service.
But i guess it will work iphone as well !
I find it was a but crude for a lib but after some experimenting it should work

i have traken the code for microdnssrv and addapted it for use with eso8266, it works, i have tested it for my own project.
Im going to do git maintanance on my projects tomorrow.
need it ? lemme know !

Really need it 👍 , I will port it to ESP32 if neccessary
I have tried a lot , the ESP32 does intercept dns request and return the captive portal IP , but there is no login message show up on my phone :p

will send it tomorrow, or actually today but after sleeps.
it is no capture portal but it is a small dns with wildcard options, possibly redirecting everything to one ip
