"Unknown error occurred"

Problem

Hi,
I wanted to add integratin to my HA but I received the error "Unknown error occurred". I used my original account to TP-Link account, also I created new one and added to my Deco network as the second administrator, also I tried to login with admin useraname. But no attempt was sucessful.
Ip address is also OK (to my main Deco tower).
Can anybody help me?

[Experimental] Support for Deco S7 / S1900 with Firmware 1.5.2 (New Authentication Flow)

Device Information

• Models: Deco S7(1.0), S1900(1.0)
• Firmware Version: 1.5.2 Build 20240927 Rel. 68997
• Integration Version: v3.8.0

Problem

The standard authentication flow using POST /cgi-bin/luci/;stok=/login?form=keys fails on these models with a HTTP 401 Unauthorized error. These newer firmwares appear to have moved away from the legacy luci path for local administration.

Technical Discovery

After inspecting the local web interface with browser developer tools, I found that these models use a different encrypted local API flow:

1. POST /?code=7&asyn=1: Returns HTTP 401, but the response body contains temporary RSA key data.
2. POST /?code=16&asyn=0 (data: enable): Enables encryption mode.
3. POST /?code=16&asyn=0 (data: get): Returns the RSA exponent, modulus, and sequence.
4. Session ID Generation: The web UI generates a local session ID using $.su.encrypt(seed, md5_password, dictionary).
5. POST /?code=7&asyn=0&id= (data: RSA(password)): Authenticates the session.
6. POST /?code=16&asyn=0&id= (data: set RSA(k=<aes_key>&i=<aes_iv>)): Sets the AES key and IV for subsequent encrypted communication.
7. Data Requests: Subsequent requests (like client_list) work via POST /admin/client?form=client_list&id=<id> with an AES-encrypted payload.

Fixes included in the attached files

• New Auth Flow: Implemented the S7-specific handshake described above.
• Numeric String Conversion: Added a utility to convert numeric strings (like "25%") returned by the S7 API into integers/floats. This prevents a TypeError in Home Assistant when the integration tries to round string values.
• Improved Error Handling: Modified _async_plain_post to allow HTTP 401 during the initial key fetch.

Note

This is an experimental workaround. A permanent fix should ideally include automatic detection between the legacy and the new S7-style API flows.

Confirming the same issue on Deco X20 with firmware 1.6.1 Build 20250910 Rel. 43292.

• Integration version: v3.8.0
• HA version: 2026.5.3
• Error in UI: "Unknown error occurred" on the credentials dialog
• Accounts tried: primary TP-Link ID (owner) and a separately-invited manager account, both with full permissions, 2FA disabled on both
• Other steps tried: host with and without http:// scheme prefix, fully signed out of Deco mobile app to rule out the single-session limit
