Perspective Transform and Edge Detection aren't working as expected

Issue: Perspective transform and edge detection for images like receipt.jpg, dollar.jpg etc. aren't working.

The images become black and white and the fonts sharpen as expected. Edge detection works for images that resemble scanned text with a bit of surroundings.

My environment:
Python3.8.10 (installed specifically for this project venv, my default version is 3.10.14)
The other libraries are installed as specified in your requirements.txt file

Would you be able to kindly help?
