Support for recent versions of amazon Linux

Is it possible to expand support of the Amazon Linux section ([[ $ID == "amzn" ]])to support more recent versions of it, more than just VERSION_ID=2?

Amazon Linux 2023 added openvpn since 2023.6 release
It can install without any extras even on minimal AMI
