In theory, all the OTEL SDK Env variables are supported, hence If you use OTEL_RESOURCE_ATTRIBUTES, does it help?

$ OTEL_RESOURCE_ATTRIBUTES="service.namespace=AwesomeCompany,service.version=1.0.0" \
 OTEL_SERVICE_NAME='ansible-otel' \
   ansible-playbook <your_playbook>

For instance, I've used some of those env variables in some other places and they work fine.

Can confirm this works, although values are separated by equal sign, not colon.

So this will work:

OTEL_RESOURCE_ATTRIBUTES="service.namespace=AwesomeCompany,service.version=1.0.0"
