Release 4.0.0

We have many commits after 3.3.0 released.
We need to major update because Zabbix 6.2 is unsupported.
However, if we release major version, I'd like to include some changes.

• Remove ansible-core 2.16 support (EoL is end of this month)
• Remove Ubuntu 20.04 support (EoL is last month)

Let me know your opinions.
ex) We can release 3.4.0 instead of 4.0.0.

I think there's been enough changes to warrant a 4.0.0

I've got some changes to selinux defaults that I'd like to sneak in for a 4.0.0 release, I'll have a PR ready by thursday.

I don't think we should remove 2.16 until EL8 is dead, but I'm all for limiting it to only the distributions that are stuck using it. Dropping ubuntu-20.04 👍

If 2.16 is dead in a month then I would go ahead a pull it as part of this release otherwise we're stuck with it for a long time. If some is using 2.16, then just don't roll to 4.0

  • If we want to update collection for EL8, we will backport the changes to v3.y.z..

We've never tried to maintain two branches and suspect it will be a lot harder to try that. If waiting is so important then dont merge 4.0 until after May and go ahead and bring in the other parts between now and then so they are there before we drop support.

Personally I have no heart burn pulling support 17 days early. If they are that far in the past then they probably don't care about cutting edge changes here.

Since ansible-core 2.17, dnf and some modules don't work for EL8.

fyi: This site says ansible-core supported versions for RHEL family. The site says max version of ansible-core for EL8 is 2.16.
