Currently, we have two implementations for the PLC4X S7 adapter: PLC4xS7Adapter and GenericPlc4xAdapter. The difference between them is unclear to users, so I propose deprecating and eventually removing the older PLC4xS7Adapter.
Do you see any logic that still needs to be transferred to the new adapter?
My suggestion:
Mark PLC4xS7Adapter as deprecated in the next release.
Remove it in the following release.
Optionally provide an automatic migration so that adapter instances are updated automatically in the next release.
Are there any settings or data that speak against this?
