Fan Mode control does not work

I have a Daikin One Touch controlling FTQ30TAVJUA indoor unit and RZQ30TAVJU outdoor unit. In the Daikin app I have options for heating fan speed and cooling fan speed, but neither of these seems to be connected to the Home Assistant "Fan Mode" setting in the Home Assistant climate setting - it neither reads and displays the fan speed in home assistant, nor controls it if I change it in home assistant. I would very much appreciate being able to automate the fan speed on my unit as I like to keep it low, unless it is very cold outside in which case I need to increase the fan speed to keep the house heated. Looking at the API documentation it seems this may be an API limitation not a bug in the plugin, but I wanted to check here in case I'm not reading it right.

If you can use the API documentation to retrieve the thermostat status before and after updating the fan speed for cool and heat, I can take a look and see how to implement it.
