Summary

Project supports 7 host adapters but there's no developer guide explaining how to create a new one. CONTRIBUTING.md mentions adapters but provides no step-by-step workflow.

Impact

  • Community cannot contribute new host adapters
  • Each adapter's structure must be reverse-engineered
  • Limits project's host coverage growth

  • docs/guides/ADAPTER-DEVELOPMENT.md exists
  • Covers: registration, lifecycle wiring, capability matrix, testing
  • Includes worked example (e.g. hypothetical Windsurf adapter)
  • Linked from CONTRIBUTING.md and README host section
