Create snippets

Need to be able to create snippets before we can do all that other cool stuff with them.

What is a snippet? Just a bit of text a person posts, or might it be code or an image or what?  What are the storage requirements, and what are they for? Will there be interaction around them, like comments?

Or are they basically gists? What do you have in mind?
