I would like to be able to “pause” the background processes that update Thing variables (dashboard updates).
I am using MKR NB 1500 where all communications are done using the onboard LTE modem. For example, based on conditions in my program I would like to send an SMS. This requires the modem to receive AT commands and wait for specific responses. If the Thing variable process is sending the same modem additional AT commands it will confuse the modem. The SMS must start and finish before the background updating resumes. Sending an SMS takes only a few seconds usually. See the send SMS example for the MKR NB 1500 board.
I would think this may not be an issue with Wi-Fi based boards.
If there is another way to do this, please let me know.
