Easier way to call translate

Is there an easier way to call the translate function then from the installed languages list? I'm looking in source and can't find it. Love this project btw.

Thanks! Currently it's a bit manual to do even basic translation. I've considered an easier interface with less setup where languages are installed only when they're used for the first time but this doesn't currently exist.
