Lack of None and Other term

I can't seem to find a None or other term. I would like to be able to say that something has resistance to an antibiotic which is not specified. Additionally, I would like to be able to say that something has no resistance to antibiotics.

@JMante1 could you propose some draft terms so we understand completely?

I would like to use the ARO ontology to annotate plasmids and make it mandatory to indicate the resistance cassette on the plasmid. For this two additional terms are required: NONE which means the plasmid does not in fact carry an antibiotic resistance cassette or OTHER which means it carriers a resistance cassette which is not one of the many ones currently listed in the ontology. This distinction would allow going back and updating the OTHER terms as required (and not having to look at the NONE terms again). Additionally, it would enable the drafting of new terms based on plasmids labelled with other at periodic intervals. I would suggest a NONE and OTHER term for each of the three branches, but specifically want one for resistance mechanism.

@JMante1 if there are terms for resistance mechanisms missing in the ARO I'd recommend submitting supporting literature to the curation team so that it can be incorporated. For the NONE term you are describing, I think this will be more appropriately addressed in the development of AROnext. In the meantime, I'm wondering if terms such as ARO:3004528 (plasmid harbouring resistance determinant) can be used to create a term that references a plasmid without a resistance cassette? Thoughts @bpalcock ?
