How to use the forked equivalent of ffmpeg_kit_flutter_full_gpl

Can you please provide the steps needed to use my own repo for Flutter integration? I need to use the binaries provided by ffmpeg_kit_flutter_full_gpl.

I forked the repo but I can't figure out how to specify that I need the full GPL binaries. It only recognizes the ffmpeg_kit_flutter name, withoug _full_gpl.

There's nothing unique about FFmpegKit. Here's a response I shared under a similar question in my Medium article:

FFmpegKit’s hybrid plugins (Flutter/React Native) are standard plugins that rely on native FFmpegKit binaries. When these binaries are removed from the repositories, projects using hybrid plugins won’t be able to download them. The solution is to build the native FFmpegKit libraries for your platforms locally.

You don’t need to be a Flutter/React Native expert to build FFmpegKit. You can follow general Flutter/React Native tutorials for plugins with native dependencies and apply the same approach to FFmpegKit’s Flutter/React Native plugin. If you run into issues, AI tools are quite helpful these days; I recommend using them.

This works for me under iOS with these changes in pubspec.yaml:

but i fail to grasp if this is "ffmpeg_kit_flutter_full", which i had used before.
Am i missing some codecs now?

For full codec support (ffmpeg_kit_flutter_full_gpl) and compatibility with Flutter 3.29+, use:

Use this to solve both iOS pod install and Android registerWith issues:

🔧 This will fix both issues:

• iOS pod install 404 error

I'll fork it to set the default_subspec value to full-gpl

I'm thinking of using the fork https://github.com/carl-designlibro/ffmpeg-kit/tree/main. I'll fork it to set the default_subspec value to full-gpl

You can use it in an independent branch without modifying the default behavior to avoid affecting other people's use, such as flutter_fix_retired_full_gpl_v6.0.3
