Assuming this is a new machine and this is the first time you've attempted to connect any roasting software to it? (the troubleshooting would be different if this "used to work but has now stopped") You should check that you have the listed PID/controller as per the machine page: https://artisan-scope.org/machines/dongyi/ It's possible the manufacturer has changed what controller they use, or the registers they are using. Since the DY family is a supported machine I would expect the configuration to "just work". I personally would be trying different register values on the PORT settings page (use input3, set to FLOAT32 and slave 1) to identify if another register is holding the displayed values. |

Wow that ended up being more than a little banging of head against wall but I eventually got it to work. Putting this here in case it helps someone in the future: I replaced the existing comms (presumably broken) with this USB to RS485 adapter which I wired to the Omron controller: Amazon.com: Waveshare USB to RS485 Converter with Protection Circuits, Compatible with TVs : Electronics Then I had to do a ton of trial and error in the Artisan port configurator but eventually got it to show up correctly using these parameters: Match these settings between both your Omron controller and Artisan: In Artisan Port Configuration: Input 1 Input 2 |

Assuming the data is temperature you should select with the MODE either C or F for input 1 and 2, depending if the readings send by the machine are in F or C. This is for proper conversion. If MODE is not set, the readings are not converted to the display temperature unit but always rendered as received. A serial timeout larger than 1sec is scary as it can block communication quite a bit. A more reasonable value would 0.4sec. You might want to have the "Optimize" flag ticked in the MODBUS tab to have those two readings fetched in a single request. This could improve stability of communication (if supported by the device). Congrats! |

I have a Dongyi DY2 roaster.
I'm connecting it via USB cable to a laptop running Windows 11. I installed the CP210x serial drivers successfully.
I've attached screenshots of my settings.
The software recognizes the USB input on COM4 but only returns BT and ET readings of 32F / 0C and they don't change, nor match the output readings on the roasting machine's Omron E5CC's.
Any help or insight much appreciated!
