Artisan Stepper Control???

Does anyone know how to get a stepper motor running in Artisan?
Ive hooked up the STC1005 via the HUB000 but cant get the motor to react on any Stepper Commands.

Got it up and running for a few minutes, then it stopped working??

Good to know it was running at one time. Either a setting was changed, the hardware has faulted or it's a bug.

To help further we need some more information. What OS are you running? Post your settings file so we can take a look. Use menu Help>> Save settings. Change the file name to end in .txt then drag the file onto a reply box on this website (do not use email reply).

You ask Artisan to read data from port 2 and 3 by defining an extra device of type "Phidget HUB IO 23". Note that you cannot use a port as communicating to a module and at the same time read directly its IO lines. Specifying a serial number does not help in this case as the module cannot be mounted from a port that is already reserved and in use. Plug that module in a port different from 0, 1 (which you also read with your extra device 1 and your main device; does reading data twice from the same device makes sense?), 2 and 3. Thus plug it into port 4 or 5.

In this setup there are no reading devices attached to port 0 and 1. I also deleted extra device "Phidget HUB IO 23", but without any luck.
Even by switching to port to 3 or 4 etc, doesnt change anything. I cant get the Stepper working (again).

But you did read the (very detailed) documentation for your module, right? Note that Artisan is only forwarding the API commands designed and described by Phidgets to the module thus it is mandatory to read the specification to operate those modules. Did you send the necessary engaged command as well? I thought you had that stepper working working once.... now I wonder.

I did have it working. Why? I dont know. Did I by coincidence send the "engaged" command? That might be. But it wasnt my plan because I dont know how to do so, and I cant find out how to either. Im probably the dumbest when it comes to understanding this non physical reality of coding and programming.

But you're 100% the only one with this kit, and also the only one who would get any "value" in solving this, so it's hard for anyone else to lead you more into the doco....

I dont understand you guys. Why didnt you just say that you have to engage the bloody stepper every single time after having disconnected it? Why? And why isnt that written with big letters? Because it is quite an important detail, isnt it?

I was actually thinking about that Marko. I have a tech-guy that might be interested in making some video documentation on how to use all, or at least some of the features that Artisan offers. How about that? It is strange that there are so little out there

like i said earlier and like Marko also said, you're the only one with this hardware, nobody here knows about it, and have no skin in the game to research it for you, so you've got to make the effort to figure it out. Marko has gone above and beyond by exploring the doco enough to give you the pointers.

Ok. So now I have an additional "Engage" button, to engage the stepper. That kind of works tho overtime I engage it, it picks new position to something that looks like between my two "set points" which is (90°)? So when the stepper is disengaged, and then reengaged, it moves only 45° in either direction. Is there a way to have a fixed (0°) position? Or do I have to keep the stepper permanent engaged?

Artisan isn't the place to ask further questions here, this is clearly a Phidgets related question, very specific to the stepper and controller.
